The Marines…….?

My feince’ wants to join the Marines. The recute told us all about the benifits, but they sounded to good to be true. I know that my son and I can live on the base with him as soon as we get married, and I know they give you base pay and money for food and housing but the other stuff im not so sure about. They told me that there a some colleges that will pay for my school or atleast give me a discount. He said that since my feince’ will be doing the computer part he would not be consider a part of the infiltry, and when he went over seas they said he would be about 2hrs away from the fight and onley be gone for 3-6 mo. I dont know much about the Marines so I want to know if all this is true??

Marine recruiters will try and set your b/f up with an enlistment contract that he likes. While those benefits he told you are true, they don’t come easy.
First of all, base housing is hard to get, it depends on how many openings, his rank and time in grade. The lower the rank, the smaller the housing units.

Next, all Marines are trained to be infantry first, the job they are trained for comes second. Many Marines can tell you that they thought they had it made, but when it came time to ship off to the fight, they were often sent to wherever they were needed the most, ones MOS didn’t matter. I know, been there done that.
