during a rain storm i had to drive through some pretty big puddles and it ended up throwing water everywhere. when i go to start my car there is no sound what so ever. i cleaned the battery terminals. i know the starter and the solenoid are close to the ground, could I have short circuited one of them? i am going to jump the solenoid later to see if thats the problem. I was just trying to figure out if any body else had this problem and if they had to replace things or if just letting it all dry out worked? i just think hopeing it will dry it might be too wishful thinking

Its not starting because you sucked water down your intake. I wouldn’t be surprised if the connecting rods are bent now. To fix this you have to take all your spark plugs out and spray WD-40 in there and turn it over. You can even spray WD-40 down the intake. This will remove the water that’s in the engine so just keep trying this and keep turning the engine over and over until it fires up and make sure you remove the air cleaner and dry it.The reason why there is nothing when you go to start the car is because there is water in between the spark plugs and water can’t compress to make a connection. Your car should have a rough starts the news few times after this but it should be ok after sometime. Oh yea your going to have a lot of fun getting at the spark plugs, its a pain in the ass getting at spark plugs on Corvettes.

This is a VERY common problem I that i have had to fix. and most people think its because an electical part has shorten out. I recommend you never drive your corvette in the rain ever again.
