1989 chevy camarodistributor wire burnt up?

recently bought a 1989 custom camaro from arizona the car drove fine from there to texas. it has 2 wires running from the distributor cap to other parts of the car they were a quick fix i think. one of the wires is twisted onto a green wire that runs into a plug with 4 other wires. this plug fits into a little “thing”kinda looks like an “L”. I was adjusying the rocker arms when this wire just burnt up. It’s been a while since i’ve worked on a car and can’t afford to take it to a mechanic. What is the part the wire plugs into and could it going out have caused it. or am i in serious trouble as far as finding the problem.

okay one wire runs to battery it should be pinkish color the other one is brown or light brown thats for the rpm,s there should be a one plug that runs from the dist it self that goes to the ignition module inside the dist you need to follow the pinkish wire to were it is not burn and clip it and put a quick connector and enough wire to get to the dist and same for the others that are burn then if your car still wont start check your fusible weirs see if they are not burn if they are do the same thing but you need to buy fusible wire DONT PUT REGULAR WIRE then if it still dont start you need to take to a mechanic so they can test your ignition module hope it helps
