new engine for 85 corvette?

how hard is it to put one of the new fuel efficient chevrolet engines in an 85 corvette. It is a daily driver not a race car. also can some one reccommend a book about this issue thanks

The easiest and cheapest swap would probably be an LT1. I’ve seen these things pop up in all kinds of vehicles, even an S10 pickup. They are showing up in bone yards from wrecked caprices and camaros. The Camaro or Firebird would be your best bet, with aluminum heads and more HP(over 300). If you go this route, you will need every harness, tube and hose from the donor car. Then, you’ll need a good electric fan and you’d have to find a place to mount the ECM. Other than that, the block itself should drop right in. Good luck.
